Is Gremlins a horror, comedy or Christmas movie? No matter, we are happy to bring the original Gremlin-wrangler to Puyallup. Please welcome Zach Galligan to the lineup of the Washington State Horror Con from October 25th through the 27th.

Galligan’s first major role was as Billy Peltzer in the 1984 film Gremlins. In 1988, he starred as Mark Loftmore in the horror comedy Waxwork. He reprised his role as Billy in the 1990 sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch, and returned to the role of Mark for Waxwork II: Lost in Time. He would later play Douglas in Warlock: The Armageddon and in Tales from the Crypt.

In early 2021, Galligan appeared in a Mountain Dew commercial in which his Gremlins character, Billy, gives Gizmo a drink of his Mountain Dew. Galligan returned to the Gremlins franchise again in the animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai.

In 1985, he played the doomed teenager Rick Brogan in Surviving, an acclaimed TV movie that featured Ellen Burstyn and Marsha Mason, and landed him on the cover of People magazine with co-star Molly Ringwald.

In 2002, Zach returned to his theater roots with the comedy Doing Judy at the Alcazar Theater in San Francisco, and on screen has played a Brooklyn sleazoid on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, a hack playwright in Let Them Chirp Awhile, and a New Orleans sheriff in Hatchet 3.
