PJ Soles emerged as an iconic scream queen of 1970s horror cinema. Her breakthrough came in Brian De Palma's Carrie (1976), where she played the bubbly, baseball cap-wearing Norma Watson, a cruel cheerleader whose torment of Sissy Spacek's telekinetic teen unleashes chaos at the prom.
She followed with John Carpenter's Halloween (1978) as Lynda "Lee Bracket" Van Der Klok, the flirtatious best friend to Laurie Strode. Soles revisited the character in archive footage for Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022).
Soles would portray Riff Randell in Allan Arkush's cult classic Rock 'n' Roll High School (1979), Pvt. Pvt. Wanda Winter in Goldie Hawn's Private Benjamin (1980) and as the alluring MP Stella Hanson opposite Bill Murray in Ivan Reitman's Stripes (1981).
In 2005, Soles played the victim, Susan, of a family on a murderous rampage in the Rob Zombie movie The Devil's Rejects. In 2012, she starred alongside Heather Langenkamp in The Butterfly Room.
Meet PJ Soles all weekend at the Washington State Horror Con from October 24th through the 26th. She will be signing autographs, taking photos, taking group photos with Nancy Loomis, and speaking on a panel at the show.
